Feel the Burn Not the Pain
Fitness experts using Pilates moves to challenge their seniors and injured juniors?
"According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC 2009), by 2030 the portion of U.S. population aged 65 and older will double to about 71 million." – Idea Fitness Journal February 2010
Over my many years of experience working with seniors I have found that my older clients and those of physical therapists and fitness trainers were getting injured exercising with teachers who didn’t have a background in senior fitness. The 55 and older population has now become the largest and fastest growing group to enter the fitness community. That is why the Mayo Clinic coined the term "Boomeritis" . They have the disposable income and, because of retirement, more time to devote to fitness.
Have you discovered that many of the 50 plus population is suffering from "tissue issues", joint breakdown and diseases? Is there a gap in your education that leaves you some what unprepared on how to handle this situation? If so, then this workshop will help you bridge this gap. Learn how to teach what they don’t teach you in Pilates and Fitness Teacher Training Programs. All the material covered can be applied anywhere and anytime in any fitness program.
Bridge the gap from Pilates Teacher, Personal Fitness Trainer and Physical Therapist to Expert in Pilates for Seniors and injured juniors.
Who should take the class?
This 9 unit, 3 DVD Homestudy should be taken by Pilates instructors, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapists, certified athletic trainers and those who teach fitness to an older population.
