Safe bone strengthening exercises executed horizontally while Rebounding on the JumpBoard
Recent research has now proven that many forms of jumping are improving hip bone density. On YouTube Dr. Lani Simpson demonstrates jumping in place for osteoporosis, the Better Bones Blog by Dr. Susan Brown features “Jumping Improves Hip Bone Mineral Density and the LIVESTRONG.com website discusses Rebounding and Osteoporosis. You might not be ready to jump around standing up but laying down could be for you.
I have been doing this program with several of my clients who have osteoporosis and various body issues like hip replacement, back pain and torn ACL’s. They definitely cannot jump standing up but they are great horizontal. One has shown marked improvement in her bone density test. This program shows real potential. My Aerobic Pilates DVD Level I has just the exercises I use. Check out my web site for the study guide and DVD offer coming soon www.retrofitpilates.com.
More to come on this project…
