Maybe it’s the full moon’s fault, but, I have been thinking about my past. Maybe it’s the fact that there is more time behind me than in front of me (what a mind-blowing thought). As I move from day to day I think about where I have come from.
Many of my friends date back to 2nd grade and my California friends date back 40 years or so. All the things I have done in my life and the friends I have made, have made me the person I am today. I took a spin class today and as I looked around the room, I remember my first spin classes 22 years ago in a stone room with a cement floor, spinning with the originator (Johnny G) on a Tunturi bike (before today’s spin bike was invented). I will run the Super Bowl Redondo Beach 5k soon with my friend Susan. It’s my 34th time and her 35th time in a row (but who’s counting). What memories Susan and I have doing this event. We will be joined by Perri, Harvey and the new runner Mike.
I have been thinking about my first free tennis lessons on the Plaza when I was 10. I am still playing tennis and I am not much taller than I was back then. Some people call this “reflecting” or “reminiscing”. I call it being lucky. Life has been good to me. I feel fortunate to have been blessed with good health and a wealth of happiness. As long as I have my long-term memory, I don’t need a smartphone to entertain me, just my brain cells. LOL! As Maud from the movie “Harold and Maud” once said, “Live life to the fullest, otherwise you won’t have any stories to tell in the locker room”. I cannot wait to get back to the locker room to hear and tell more stories.
Tip of the day: PULL YOUR SHOULDERS BACK AND DOWN. Does your head grow out of your chest or does it sit on top of your shoulders? Great posture becomes you.
