My birthday was a few days ago. I didn’t plan a party this year. I really didn’t plan anything nor did I feel like doing anything. Actually, I ran a 5k and won my age group. Took a really nice picture as a memory.
No one wants to buy birthday cards any longer. They cost$3-$5 now for a one time wish that is thrown in the trash pretty quickly. I still call some friends to wish Happy Birthday, text others. If you are on Facebook the whole world just opened up for you. First thing in the morning FB sends you balloons and birthday wishes. Then FB prepares a look back at your other birthdays with pictures. Boy am I special.
I upload my 5k picture then everything explodes. FB notifies my 500 best friends. Amazing, so many are either on line or have a notification bell that alerts them to new information. WOW!! I received birthday wishes from all over the country. For a moment in time, I really felt special, important and thrilled. I had the best birthday. My day was filled with joy. Was it the endorphins from the race or FB doing what they do so well? Guess it really doesn’t matter. It was a good day.
